Parts of Sonoma County were hit with a quick burst of hail Wednesday afternoon, as the tail end of a storm system that’s pelted the North Bay with rain since Monday uttered its last gasp.

Sonoma County’s airport recorded .08 inches of precipitation at 3:05 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, and readers reported seeing hail from Windsor to Kenwood to Rohnert Park.

“It’s just the unstable airmass producing a few showers from yesterday’s storm,” said Will Pi, a forecaster with the weather service.

Sonoma County will be dry and sunny Thursday and Friday before more rain pelts the region this weekend, Pi said, with a storm moving in Saturday afternoon.
