Petaluma toddler struck by vehicle, injured

An 18-month-old girl was hit by a vehicle driven by her brother Wednesday.|

A toddler who was run over by a car backing out of an east Petaluma driveway was flown to Children’s Hospital Oakland on Wednesday morning with serious injuries, according to the CHP.

The 18-month-old girl was struck by a 1999 Nissan driven by her 18-year-old brother as he backed out of a driveway on Highway 116 at Stage Gulch Road, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

The incident was reported at 11:33 a.m.

A CHP helicopter flew the young girl to the hospital, accompanied by her mother, Sloat said.
