Saturday, Sept. 6
Captain Underpants: The author and cartoonist of the popular book series "Captain Underpants" is coming to the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Dav Pilkey, who also wrote "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby" and "Dog Breath," will talk about his work, give a demonstration on his drawings, and autograph copies of his latest "Captain Underpants" book at 10 a.m., and then again at 3 p.m. Free tickets will be available at the museum starting at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Sept. 6 & 7
Spring Lake Water Bark: Weekends in September are dedicated to our furry pals and their humans. Well-behaved dogs are invited for a playful day of off-leash fun and swimming at Spring Lake Regional Parks Swimming Lagoon. This weekend's times are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. This Saturday there will also be a raffle, as well as free toys and treats by various local businesses. SoCo Unplugged 4: The 4th annual music event at boon hotel features an afternoon of music, wine, food and friends with a view of the redwoods. Nine wineries will be pouring at the event, and food will include oysters, barbecue, and cupcakes from local eateries. You'll want to bring a blanket and sunscreen as you enjoy music in the sunshine. But please leave your animals at home. Admission is $20 in advance, or $25 cash at the door.
