Sonoma County Counsel Bruce Goldstein, who represents the Board of Supervisors and county agencies in legal matters, has been reappointed to his second four-year term, which runs until January 2019.

Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of extending his contract Tuesday.

“I’m honored and very fortunate,” Goldstein said.

Goldstein oversees a budget of $7.5 million and 40 staff, including 30 lawyers and 10 administrative support staff. He joined the county 18 years ago and was first appointed to the head position of county counsel in 2010, replacing Steven Woodside.

“You do an outstanding job every day,” Supervisor Shirlee Zane told Goldstein at Tuesday’s board meeting. “You’re deeply respected.”
