1,000 pot plants seized from Petaluma warehouse

According to authorities the plants, seized Wednesday, were capabale of producing pot with a street value of more than $4 million.|

Officers from the Sonoma County Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force seized more than 1,000 marijuana plants from a Petaluma warehouse Wednesday morning, Petaluma Police Sgt. Ed Crosby said in a statement.

The plants were capable of producing 2,800 pounds of processed marijuana with a street value of $4.25 million, Crosby said. Officers obtained a search warrant and seized the plants around 7 a.m. at Clegg Court, an industrial area in northeast Petaluma.

Officers noted multiple building code violations, and the property was deemed unsafe to occupy. No arrests were made and no people were at the scene when the warrant was executed.
