Two men were arrested after a fight with a third man west of downtown Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Jacoby House, 29, and Donald Collins, 20, both transients with multiple prior police contacts, were involved in an altercation with Fekadu Gebrestion, 38, at Wilson and Seventh streets at 10:40 a.m.

Collins and House confronted Gebrestion regarding a prior assault. Collins had a bicycle chain wrapped around his hand and struck Gebrestion in the head, resulting in a large head wound, according to police. Gebrestion grabbed a pipe to defend himself. Collins took a tree branch, which was the approximate size of a baseball bat, and hit Gebrestion in the leg.

Gebrestion was treated at the scene for his injuries and declined further medical treatment. Collins was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. House was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation. Collins and House were booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
