OAKLAND — More than two dozen protesters have stopped trains from Oakland to San Francisco by chaining themselves to trains, shutting down a major station and stopping service into San Francisco.

About 25 protesters started Friday morning by holding train doors open in continued protest over the decision not to indict a white police officer in the Ferguson, Missouri shooting of a black teen.

A BART spokeswoman said that by 11 a.m. the group had chained themselves to each other and to trains on both platforms that run into San Francisco and into the suburbs to the east.

No injuries were reported.

Groups nationwide are protesting on this Black Friday as an economic boycott to further show their outrage over the decision to not indict officer Darren Wilson in the Aug. 9 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson.
