The first of three wet weather systems expected to last through the middle of next week moved into Sonoma County on Friday night.

The first storm is expected to last into Saturday afternoon and bring less than an inch of rain, according to the National Weather Service. The next system, which should last all day Sunday, will be wetter.

The North Coast is expected to get a break from the rain for most of Monday with the third and strongest of the three storms coming Monday night and lasting until Wednesday morning.

The three systems are predicted to bring 1 to 3 inches of rain to the lower elevations and 3 to 5 inches of rain in the hills, said Duane Dykema, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

“We’re definitely into a pretty wet period here for the next several days,” he said.
