OAKLAND — A 58-year-old window washer who fell 11 stories from the roof of a building onto a moving car is expected to soon check into a rehabilitation facility.

Marciela Perez, the wife of Pedro Perez, will speak Monday in Oakland about her husband's recovery process.

He was moving equipment on the roof of a bank building in San Francisco's financial district on Nov. 21 when he fell.

Alfredo A. Fletes, a spokesman for the man's union, said Pedro Perez is going to a rehabilitation facility in hopes of "one day walking again."

Fletes said Pedro Perez didn't break his back or suffer any spinal cord injuries in the fall. He had a head injury, but his memory is returning.

The family is asking for donations to cover his rehabilitation, rent and other household costs.

The car's driver was not injured.
