Sonoma County court officials are looking for people who want to serve on the 2015-16 civil grand jury.

The 19-member panel, which convenes July 1, investigates complaints about local government agencies and recommends improvements.

Members must be able to meet once a week and put in at least 20 hours of service a month, typically reviewing documents, writing reports and performing site visits. Each receives a $25 stipend per meeting.

Court officials said they are trying to recruit more minorities and people from all parts of the county. Last year, 82 percent of the applicants were white and the majority lived in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, the Sonoma Valley and the north county, according to court statistics.

To apply, visit the Sonoma County Superior Court website at http://sonoma.courts.ca.gov/.
