The woman suspected of backing into a Sebastopol police officer Friday night and triggering a chase that ended in another officer crashing his patrol car was asked to leave a local pub because she reportedly has been stalking the guitarist who performed there that evening, police said.

Morgan Greene, 48, of Fremont was arrested following a chase that began at about 9:45 p.m., reached speeds of 60 mph and ended on Highway 12 with an officer smashing in the window of her Prius.

She was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, evading police and resisting police. She posted $50,000 bail Saturday.

Officers had gone to the Hop Monk Tavern because the manager of guitarist Jackie Greene wanted her removed from the venue. The manager said Morgan Greene has been stalking the singer, going to far as to have her name legally changed to Greene, Sgt. Nick Belliveau said.

“This lady has been following him to his venues wherever he plays,” Belliveau said.

An ardent fan of Jackie Greene’s music who said she knows people connected to the band said the woman has been traveling all over the state to follow Greene for years, often setting up shrines with candles near the stage or handing out flowers at concerts.

At one show the woman danced around a shrine made up of a circle of what appeared to be skulls, said the woman, who requested anonymity because she feared for her safety.

“She’s been stalking him for like four or five years,” said the woman. “It’s pretty trippy.”

The chase triggered another Sebastopol officer to race back toward the city on Highway 12, where he was broadsided at the Fulton Avenue intersection by a woman driving southbound, severely damaging both vehicles and closing the highway in the westbound direction for several hours.
