Thunderstorms move through North Bay

Rains, thunder are expected to diminish overnight.|

A cold front that started Friday night brought rain and thunderstorms through the North Bay on Saturday afternoon.

Lightning, thunder and scattered showers hit Petaluma and other parts of southern Sonoma County, according to Diana Henderson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service.

Petaluma got 0.23 of an inch of rain through 4 p.m., according to AccuWeather. The Sea Ranch recorded 0.09 of an inch and most of the rest of Sonoma County received only a trace of rain from the storm that moved rapidly through the region.
