Deadly crash on Highway 101 near Asti

A deadly car crash backed up traffic Tuesday night on northbound Highway 101 at Asti, authorities said.

The CHP responded to the crash at 8:15 p.m. and found the person in the vehicle was unresponsive, the patrol said. Officers were unable to access the car because of its damage.

An alert regarding a lane closure was issued at 8:49 p.m. No other information was immediately available.
