Five people were arrested Thursday on suspicion of running a prostitution business out of a residence in southwest Santa Rosa, authorities said.

Santa Rosa police officers served a search warrant on the house located on McMinn Avenue after receiving complaints months ago from neighbors about a prostitution business located there.

Authorities initially thought it to be a human trafficking case, but follow-up investigation showed that no one was held against their will or forced to engaged into prostitution.

Four Santa Rosa residents were arrested on felony complaints of pimping and conspiracy to commit a crime: Manuel Covarrubias Hurtado, 24; Jessica Lynn Parker, 30; Ernesto Esquivel Molinero, 36; and Marco Antonio Mendoza, 44, police said.

Additionally, a 27-year-old Florida man was arrested on a misdemeanor complaint of aiding prostitution.

A 29-year-old Salinas woman was arrested on a misdemeanor prostitution complaint.

Police said information from the case leads detectives to believe there are similar residences in Santa Rosa and in Sonoma and Marin counties that are prostitution houses.
