A fatal crash shut both lanes of Guerneville Road near Highway 116 on Tuesday night, the CHP reported.
The crash was reported just after 8 p.m. on Guerneville Road near Laguna Road, according to CHP. It involved a solo driver in a small, white pickup.
Officers at the scene said the pickup was heading east when the male driver crossed the double-yellow lines before turning back into his own lane. The pickup then left the road, striking some trees. The man was thrown from the truck. Emergency responders attempted to revive him with CPR but were unsuccessful, a CHP officer said.
The Sheriff's Coroner's Office was called to the scene.
