A Lake County man who may have been drinking alcohol was killed Saturday afternoon when his pickup drifted off a road and struck two parked vehicles and a walnut tree, the CHP said.

The name of the 57-year-old driver was not released Saturday pending notification of relatives.

The man was heading east on Lakeshore Boulevard east of Collier Avenue in Nice at 1:48 p.m. when the Ford F-150 crossed into the oncoming lane and crashed, according to the CHP.

The man was unconscious when medical help arrived. He was taken to Sutter Hospital in Lakeport, where he was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash.

The CHP said the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol may have contributed to the crash, authorities said.
