Authorities on Wednesday released the names of two men killed in a fiery Napa County crash over the holiday weekend.

They were identified as Ernest Crain, 54, of Angwin and Jayarama Notestine, 23, of Middletown, a student at Pacific Union College in Angwin.

What led to the Friday night crash remains under investigation.

The two were traveling on rural Butts Canyon Road about 1 mile north of James Creek Road when the driver apparently lost control after 10 p.m.

The 2005 Saab began spinning and crashed down a 50-foot embankment, according to the CHP. Arriving firefighters found the two men dead and the car filled with flames.

Whether they were wearing seat belts was unknown.
