A candlelight vigil is planned at 7 tonight in Lakeport’s Library Park for a young Lake County woman who died in a car crash May 22.

Francesca Rose Schetter, 19, of Lakeport, died soon after the late-night crash. The driver of the car, Nicholas Ivicevich III, 21, was treated for his injuries and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

He’s since been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, causing bodily injury, Lake County District Attorney Don Anderson said. Ivicevich is being held in the Lake County jail on ?$250,000 bail, he said.

The two, who recently had begun dating, had both worked at McDonald’s until recently, when Ivicevich quit.

Schetter was a 2013 graduate of Lakeport Alternative school and a 2012 Miss Lake County contestant. She’s been remembered as a good friend and good person with a ready smile.

The crash occurred when Ivicevich lost control of his 1997 Honda Civic in a curve on Park Way. The car then ran off the road and into a utility pole, the CHP said.

Schetter was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Ivicevich suffered major injuries, including broken ribs and a lacerated liver. ?He was flown by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial ?Hospital. He was transported to the jail following his ?medical release, Anderson said.
