A 22-year-old Petaluma man was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of drunk driving and causing a crash that left another driver with major injuries.

Eladio R. Castro Naal was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon northbound on Arnold Drive in unincorporated Sonoma County at about 8:27 p.m. when California Highway Patrol officials said he weaved into the southbound lane.

Castro struck an oncoming 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Nathan Robertson, 39, of Novato. The point of impact was on the left front ends of the cars.

Castro was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries. CHP officials said Castro was driving drunk and was severely impaired at the time of the crash. He was arrested on suspicion of causing an injury while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Cavalier driver, Nathan Robertson, was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital with major injuries and passenger Elizabeth Robertson, 31, was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
