A man who suffered life-threatening injuries in a head-on collision in Novato on Thursday was David Miovas, 33, from Rohnert Park, the Marin CHP said Friday.

While Miovas was listed in critical condition Thursday, Marin CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said he is expected to live.

In addition to Miovas, four other people were hurt in the morning crash west of Atherton Avenue.

The CHP said previously that Miovas’ car, a 2013 Nissan work van, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a 2014 Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade driver, his wife and two sons were transported to Novato Community Hospital with injuries ranging from minor to moderate, the CHP said.
