Cazadero man dies in motorcycle crash

A 70-year-old Cazadero man died Sunday night in a Russian River-area motorcycle crash, according to the CHP.

The man was riding a home-built 2015 motorcycle on Highway 116 when he drifted off the roadway and hit a tree, CHP Allan Capurro said Monday. The rider died at the scene.

The 8:05 p.m. crash happened at Cnopius Road, between Guerneville and Monte Rio. The emergency response blocked traffic temporarily and drivers were funneled to one lane.

A Sonoma County coroner's investigator was still attempting reach the man's family Monday. The rider's name wasn't released.
