Two men were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after a crash Friday sent one of their cars into a creek and the other rolling across Highway 29 near Yountville, authorities said.

David Olson, 68, of Tiburon was driving on Vineyard View Drive at a high speed when he crashed his 2014 Bentley into a large gate and creek east of Solano Avenue around 5 p.m., CHP officials said. Meanwhile, David L. Alvarado, 41, of Homewood was following close behind when he slammed into the top of the Bentley, the CHP said.

The high speed and impact of the collision sent Alvarado’s 2015 Porsche rolling across the four lanes of the highway east of Solano Avenue, officials said. The car flipped several times before it came to rest in the northbound lane of Washington Street, east of the highway, CHP said.

Alvarado, who suffered a broken back and cuts, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, the CHP said. Olson suffered minor cuts and also was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, authorities said.
