Mendocino County home burns, body found inside

Firefighters responding to a structure fire in Leggett on Tuesday morning discovered a body inside the home, according to Cal Fire.

The identity of the victim was not available Wednesday.

Responding firefighters reported that there appeared to have been “suspicious activities” at the home on Drive Through Tree Road, Cal Fire Capt. Anthony Massucco said.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene, he said.

He did not have additional information and neither sheriff’s officials nor firefighters with the all-volunteer Leggett Valley Fire Department were available Wednesday.
