A pickup crashed into a house early Thursday after missing a turn on a Santa Rosa neighborhood street, plowing across the yard, over a porch, and through exterior and interior walls, Santa Rosa fire officials said.

No one was home during the 2:40 a.m. crash on Montecito Avenue at El Camino Way, Battalion Chief Ken Sebastiani said.

“The vehicle penetrated the building, went into the living room, pushed the wall out into the kitchen,” Sebastiani said. “No estimation of speed, but to be able to get across the front driveway, take out a tree, up onto a front porch...”

The driver was gone when the first fire engines arrived. A fire crew found him several blocks away near Bryden Lane and Austin Way and notified police, Sebastiani said. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police reached late Thursday did not have more details.
