Forecasts predict week of storms for North Coast, chance of soggy Halloween

Rain is forecast to begin Monday with scattered showers throughout the week.|

Another round of wet weather is headed to the North Coast.

A new storm system is expected to blow in Monday afternoon, lasting throughout the week, bringing up to an inch of rain to Santa Rosa and up to 2 inches to higher elevations, said Bob Benjamin of the National Weather Service.

A break is expected Wednesday with a second, more potent round of showers starting Thursday, he said.

“This week is definitely going to be an unsettled week with the exception of a few days,” Benjamin said.

Dry weather will return Saturday, but more rain could sweep in Sunday, possibly resulting in a damp Halloween, Benjamin said.

The coming storm is expected to be less powerful than last week’s system that brought 4 inches of rain to the Russian River area.
