One man went to a hospital Sunday night after crashing into barriers at a south Santa Rosa Highway 101 offramp and needing to be cut free from the wreckage.

Santa Rosa firefighters responded to the crash just before 9:10 p.m. at the Corby Avenue offramp.

They found a full-sized pickup smashed into impact barriers.

“He hit them square on,” said Battalion Chief Matt Dahl.

There was moderate damage to the truck and crews cut the driver’s door off and moved metal trapping the man, Dahl said.

The driver was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with injuries, although the severity wasn’t clear.

No other vehicles appeared to be involved. The driver was traveling alone.

Further information wasn’t immediately available from the CHP.
