Sonoma County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting at a south Santa Rosa home that wounded a 27-year-old man.

Deputies on Monday night were called to Santa Rosa Kaiser Permanente Hospital about 9:30 p.m. about a man who had come in for medical help for a gunshot wound, Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

Blood found in the home during a search early Tuesday determined the shooting had occurred there. There were no signs of forced entry or a struggle and no witnesses, Crum said. The rural residential road is in the Bellevue area.

The injured man was able to get to a family member’s home on the property, and family took him to the hospital.

Crum declined to release any information about the man’s wound. Motive remained under investigation.

The sergeant asked anyone with information to contact sheriff’s dispatchers at 707-565-2650.
