A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after he was broadsided by a vehicle north of Santa Rosa, according to the CHP.

The man was traveling westbound on Francisco Avenue around 5:20 p.m. when he made a wide turn onto Fulton Road and was struck by a southbound car, Officer Jon Sloat said.

The man, a Santa Rosa resident whose name was not released, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries to his legs, Sloat said. The man was not wearing a helmet.

The female driver was not speeding and drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors, Sloat said.
