A bomb threat found Tuesday morning triggered the evacuation of an elementary school north of Ukiah, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.

The threat was phoned in overnight to Calpella Elementary School’s cafeteria line and discovered by the morning staff, who evacuated the school, sheriff’s officials said.

The message said a bomb had been placed under “the restaurant,” officials said.

After sheriff’s deputies and school staff searched the school and found no evidence of a bomb, children returned to their classrooms.

Sheriff’s officials ask that anyone with information about the bomb threat contact the department at 707-234-2100 or 707-463-4411.
