The California Highway Patrol sought the aid of Sonoma County roads crew to deal with an icy patch of Mark West Springs Road Friday morning after two vehicles reportedly spun off the pavement there north of Santa Rosa.

The spot was the same place where another ice-related incident occurred Thursday, according to CHP dispatchers.

The two vehicles on Friday apparently lost control in separate incidents. The first crash was reported at 6:11 a.m. on Mark West east of Fox Hunt Lane, roughly four miles east of Old Redwood Highway.

Officers requested two separate two trucks to respond to the different crashes. One tow truck was seeking to retrieve a vehicle that had gone off the roadway.
