Petaluma police host meeting tonight on mental health issues

Petaluma police had four calls Monday involving teens and adults with mental health issues, including wanting to harm themselves, said a Petaluma police official.|

Lyons said typically Petaluma police cross paths with a person suffering from mental health issues either once a day or every other day. On Monday, officers had four such calls. Calls usually involve people threatening to harm or kill themselves.

Monday’s calls involved a 17-year-old male and three females, 16, 26, and 59.
