The Rohnert Park ?Department of Public Safety is searching for a 34-year-old man missing since ?Feb. 12.

On Feb. 9, Fernando Ruben-Minon, 34, of Rohnert Park borrowed his mother’s silver 2016 Kia Soul, allegedly to see a friend in Santa Rosa, but never returned. Instead, he sent her a text stating he would return Feb. 14.

When Feb. 16 came and Ruben-Minon’s mother still had not heard from her son, she filed a missing persons report with Rohnert Park Public Safety.

“We’re not looking at this as a theft of the car,” said Sgt. Jeff Justice. “Right now we’re just asking for the public’s assistance, if anyone has seen him or the car.”

Detectives learned ?Ruben-Minon traveled to Clearlake in Lake County and stayed with people ?he knew, but left on ?Feb. 12. His last known phone ?call was from a Clearlake pizza restaurant on that day.

Ruben-Minon is developmentally disabled, but high functioning. He’s known to be very social and likes to spend time in cafés.

Anyone with information on Ruben-Minon or the Kia Soul is asked to contact Rohnert Park Public Safety at 707-584-2630 or rpdpsinvestigations@rpcity.org.
