A woman who escaped from a locked, psychiatric emergency center in Santa Rosa earlier this week with the help of her boyfriend was arrested Wednesday along with her companion, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Amanda Roberts, 27, of Rohnert Park was admitted to the Challenger Way facility with an undisclosed mental health condition, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

She had been arrested on a drug and theft warrant and was not deemed to be a safety threat, he said.

During a visit Monday from her boyfriend, Eric Burke, 28, of Bodega Bay, she was able to escape when Burke grabbed a security guard, took his key and unlocked a secure door, Crum said.

The couple fled in a gray SUV and were found Wednesday at his home. Roberts was hiding in a storage area under a bed, Crum said.

A search of the home turned up firearms in violation of Burke’s probation terms.

Both were booked into the jail. His bail was set at $165,000 and hers at $100,000.
