Lake Sonoma’s boat-in campsites are closed until at least May 1 because of fluctuating lake levels that could pose sanitation problems with camp toilets, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers spokesman said Friday.

The campsites will open after lake levels stabilize and crews are able to ensure the safe functioning of vault toilets, the spokesman said.

In the meantime, drive-in campgrounds at Liberty Glen will remain open.
