A Santa Rosa Junior College student living in Rohnert Park was arrested early Wednesday after his roommates reported that he attempted to shoot and kill them, police said.

Jeremiah Harris, 26, was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a firearm and false imprisonment. His bail was set at $1 million.

Police were sent to a home in the 900 block of Emily Avenue about 1:51 a.m. Wednesday for a reported disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found two of the home’s four occupants outside, hiding near another home. They reported Harris had tried to shoot them.

Harris was taken into custody without incident at another location on the street. He directed officers to a porch where they found a semiautomatic pistol with two loaded magazines.

Officers responded to the same Emily Avenue address Tuesday and arrested a different roommate on suspicion of domestic violence. That person returned home later that night, setting off a chaotic series of events during which Harris allegedly attempted to shoot several of his roommates. The weapon failed to fire, police said.

Harris told police he felt threatened by his roommates. Police identified them as students at Santa Rosa Junior College.
