A Forestville man with a long criminal history was arraigned Tuesday on murder and weapons charges in last week’s slaying of his younger brother.

Shaun Michael Gallon, 38, is charged with shooting Shamus Gallon, 36, Friday night in the home they shared with their mother.

Gallon, who served time in prison for firing an arrow at two men through a car roof in 2009, is accused of shooting his brother multiple times with an assault rifle.

He was arrested the same night and appeared briefly in a Santa Rosa courtroom Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutors charged him with four counts, including being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Gallon, who said only “yes” when asked if he need a court-appointed lawyer, will return to court April 12 to enter a plea before Judge Jamie Thistlethwaite.

Family members did not attend the arraignment.

Prosecutor Jason Riehl said an autopsy on Shamus Gallon was being conducted Tuesday afternoon. He did not release additional details or a suspected motive for the shooting, citing an ongoing investigation.
