A redwood fell on a car Monday evening northeast of Santa Rosa, slightly injuring an occupant, bringing down power lines and blocking the road.

The incident was reported at 6:13 p.m. in the 2300 block of Mark West Springs Road, a main route between Santa Rosa and Calistoga.

Rincon Valley Fire Capt. Fred Leuenberger said the car was driven by a family from Portland, Oregon.

An 18-year-old woman suffered minor injuries to her arm and was taken to a Santa Rosa hospital. He said a 150-foot-tall redwood fell, toppling a smaller redwood into the car.

The blocked road delayed emergency responders from reaching a separate minor crash later on the grounds of Safari West wildlife preserve on Porter Creek Road.
