A fire gutted an abandoned mobile home Tuesday night in Santa Rosa, sending smoke billowing across a large swath of the city.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at 6:21 p.m. at 203 Magnolia Ave., Santa Rosa Fire Battalion Chief Ken Sebastiani said. The residence was in a mobile home park just south of the Bellevue area.

“There was a lot of black smoke,” Sebastiani said. “You could see (the smoke) for miles.”

Firefighters had the blaze under control within 20 minutes, he said, making sure the flames did not spread to nearby residences.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, Sebastiani said.
