Controlled burn planned for Bouverie Preserve

A controlled burn is planned in Bouverie Preserve in Sonoma Valley near Glen Ellen, on Tuesday and Wednesday, Cal Fire said.

The burn, on the east side of Highway 12, is being conducted in cooperation with Audubon Canyon Ranch between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Firefighters will conduct and monitor the burn, ensuring the flames stay within designated fire control lines.

Such burns are often carried out to eliminate wildland debris, control invasive species, maintain a healthy ecosystem and reduce the chances of more destructive fires, Cal Fire said.
