A small earthquake shook The Geysers region in the hills between Sonoma and Lake counties Monday evening, registering a magnitude of 3.3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor was reported about 5:50 p.m., centered two miles north of The Geysers and five miles southwest of Cobb in Lake County.

As of Tuesday morning, seven people had responded to an online “Did you feel it?” prompt asked by the federal agency. At least one person in the Windsor area reported they’d felt the weak quake.

The USGS tracks earthquakes worldwide.

The Geysers, located in the Mayacamas Mountains about 25 miles north of Santa Rosa, is a seismically active area and the world’s largest geothermal field. It contains 22 geothermal power plants and draws steam from more than 350 wells.
