Two adults allegedly abandon child near San Francisco Zoo

Police are searching for two suspects who reportedly left a young child near the San Francisco Zoo and drove away.|

SAN FRANCISCO - Police are searching for two people who abandoned a small child near the San Francisco Zoo.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/2r2SAO8 ) Tuesday that two adults abandoned the child next to the zoo, near the intersection of Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard, and then drove away.

The abandoned child was not injured.

San Francisco Police spokeswoman Giselle Talkoff says that paramedics from the city's fire department witnessed the incident, which occurred Monday evening, and called police.

One media report said the child is 5 years old but police said they could not confirm that.
