A Santa Rosa gang member at the center of two shootings including one in which the victim died has been sentenced to 33 years in prison.

Ramon Amadeo Perez, 21, was sentenced Thursday in the July 6, 2015, slaying of Austin Sargent-Deselle, 20, outside a Corby Avenue apartment complex. He previously pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter for the benefit of the Norteno street gang.

Two co-defendants were previously sentenced to 13 and 10 years in prison.

As part of the same plea deal, Perez also was sentenced in the gang-related April 20, 2015, shooting of Eleazar Aguilera, then 18, on Simpson Place. Perez is accused of riding a bicycle up to the victim and his brother, pulling a gun and shooting at them. Aguilera survived his wounds.

Prosecutors said the punishment removes “a violent gang member from our community for a lengthy period of time.”
