Fatal collision on Highway 101 near Redwood Valley in Mendocino County

Authorities were investigating a fatal collision Monday on Highway 101 in Mendocino County.

A vehicle crashed off the roadway about 7 p.m. on Highway 101 near the community of Calpella and the junction with Highway 20, according to the CHP log. Information about the number of people involved in the crash was not available Monday night.

The Redwood Valley Fire Department and two ambulance companies responded to the scene. Emergency responders requested a tow company with a long cable to assist in the cleanup.
