A Monday night Clearlake mobile home fire displaced two men and killed their two dogs.

The fire was reported about 8:30 p.m., said Lake County Fire Protection District Chief Willie Sapeta.

Firefighters were able to prevent it from spreading to other residences in the Dam Road mobile home park but the original trailer was destroyed, Sapeta said.

He said sheds on the property burned as well. It’s unclear where the fire started, Sapeta said.

It was the second of two Lake County fires Monday.

The first was a 2 p.m. wildfire that burned almost 10 acres in Lower Lake. According to Cal Fire it was quickly controlled by state and local firefighting teams. No injuries were reported and no structures damaged.

The causes of fires have not been determined and remain under investigation.
