Details released on investigation of two Petaluma crashes
A 67-year-old Petaluma man who died Sunday afternoon after he crashed into a streetlight pole in east Petaluma apparently suffered a medical emergency, leading to the collision, said Petaluma police Wednesday.
Paul Laprevotte crashed on Sonoma Mountain Parkway about 3:15 p.m. He was taken to nearby Petaluma Valley Hospital and later died, police said.
Meanwhile, a Monday morning Petaluma crash near Walnut Park that injured a mother and her 2-year-old son in a stroller remained under investigation Wednesday by Petaluma police.
The two were hit after stepping into a downtown crosswalk at 4th and D streets. A woman driving an SUV struck the pair at a slow speed, knocking the child in the stroller about 30 feet and the woman about 10 feet, according to police. They were treated for injuries at a hospital and released.
Lyons said investigators still are talking to witnesses.
