A man wanted on felony arrest warrants led Santa Rosa police on a high-speed chase in an allegedly stolen Ford Edge before being arrested Tuesday.

Police spotted the stolen vehicle at Sebastopol Road and Dutton Avenue around 3:20 p.m., police said.

They turned on their lights and sirens but the driver, Robert Scott Erickson, 36, of Santa Rosa, fled, exceeding speeds of 75 mph, police said.

Erickson entered Highway 101 south then exited onto Highway 12, police said. He drove onto Stony Point Road on the wrong side of the road at high speeds, police said, but when he attempted to turn east on Guerneville Road the SUV stalled and detectives blocked the vehicle from fleeing.

Erickson was identified as a transient with two felony arrest warrants for violation of felony probation. Before he was booked in Sonoma County Jail for felony evading and auto theft, he was treated for a minor wound he sustained in the incident, police said.
