A Clearlake woman wanted on arrest warrants from two counties was arrested Monday by a Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy who chased her on foot through a southeast Santa Rosa field and deployed his Taser to stop her.

Sadie Bardelmeier, 39, provided a false name at first to deputies who were questioning her at an unauthorized encampment behind Taylor Mountain Elementary School on East Bellevue Drive, sheriff’s officials said.

Bardelmeier was “visibly nervous” as she gave the initial false name, and she took off on foot through the field covered in high grass after a deputy tried to detain her, the Sheriff’s Office said. The deputy who chased her ordered her to stop and told her he would use his Taser, but she kept running, so the deputy deployed the device, sending her falling to the ground, the Sheriff’’s Office said.

Bardelmeier was taken into custody and properly identified herself at that time, officials said. Deputies learned she had two arrest warrants: one out of Sonoma County for suspected vehicle theft and possession of stolen property and the other on drug-related charges in Lake County.

She was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of providing false information to a police officer and resisting arrest.
