Mendocino County fire burns 10 acres, destroys 2 buildings

The cause of the Thursday blaze is still under investigation.|

A 10-acre fire in Mendocino County destroyed two buildings Thursday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

About 12:20 p.m., firefighters were notified of the blaze on Spyrock Road north of Laytonville, and had contained it by 2:55 p.m., said fire Capt. Jim Horton. He did not have more details about the kind of buildings burned but described the land around them as grassy and forested with oak trees.

Horton did not believe anyone was injured in the fire, the cause of which was still under investigation, he said.

Firefighters from Cal Fire, Laytonville, Redwood Valley, Little Lake and Leggett responded to the blaze, he said.
