A hooded thief held up a Santa Rosa Rite Aid store on Thursday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash after approaching a cashier with a handgun, police said.

The 1:17 p.m. incident at Stony Point and Sebastopol roads was captured on surveillance tape and shows the gunman interacting with the clerk. He remained at large on Thursday night, police said.

The robber was described as an African-American man in his 20s with a medium build and a mustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black and white shoes.

Police are investigating whether a green, 4-door sedan seen and photographed in the area is associated with the robber. The car is missing a hubcap from the rear passenger-side wheel, police said.
