Forestville man, 71, ID’d as victim of Windsor crash

The driver missed a sharp turn, ran off the road and hit a tree Monday afternoon, the CHP said.|

A Forestville man was identified Tuesday as the driver killed in a Monday crash on a rural Windsor road, according to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.

Robert Paul Lieb, 71, died in the 1:30 p.m. crash on Slusser Road, north of River Road.

Lieb’s Chevrolet Suburban missed a sharp left turn, ran off the two-lane road and hit a tree. He died at the scene.

CHP officers are investigating whether impairment, medical or mechanical issues were involved.
